Description
The Digital Hure begins with the iconic Hure base — Vintage Industrial’s most recognized French industrial silhouette — and applies the mathematics of Delaunay and Voronoi tessellation to its structure. The algorithm reduces material while preserving rigidity; the pattern it reveals through the steel is unique to each piece, determined by the geometry of the base itself. It is not decorative. It is structural logic made visible.
The base is fabricated from hot-rolled steel, hand-selected for grain and character. Top options include glass, plate steel, and solid hardwood — oak, walnut, or black lacquered ash with a chamfered edge, all hand-selected for figure and grain. A center data port is available for conference configurations. The base is also available with a round top and pedestal configuration. Top dimensions, species, finish, and data port placement are all finalized during your commission conversation. See wood options and finishes for full material details.
Pair with the Vintage Industrial executive desk collection to complete the suite in consistent materials and finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this suitable for daily use?+
Yes. The steel base is engineered to industrial tolerances. Restaurant-grade sealer finishes every top for all-day, everyday use.
What is Voronoi/Delaunay tessellation and why does it matter?+
Voronoi and Delaunay are mathematical algorithms that partition space into optimal cell structures. Applied to the steel base, they determine where material can be removed without compromising load-bearing capacity — the result is a lighter base with a complex, non-repeating pattern that is structurally derived, not decorative.
What top options are available?+
Glass, plate steel, solid oak, solid walnut, and black lacquered ash with a chamfered edge are all available. Top material and edge profile are finalized during your commission conversation.
Is a round top configuration available?+
Yes — the Digital Hure is available with a round top and pedestal base. Configuration is finalized during your commission conversation.
Can I add a data port?+
Yes. A center data port base is available as an addition to the commission. Configuration is confirmed during your commission conversation.
What is the lead time?+
Lead times are typically 12 weeks or more from deposit, depending on configuration. Your specific timeline is confirmed at the start of your commission.
How is it delivered?+
Standard delivery is freight curbside. White glove service — inside placement, unpacking, and full assembly — is available and confirmed during your commission conversation.
I’ve seen something that looks exactly like this on another site. Is it the same piece?+
No. Vintage Industrial designs have been copied extensively since 2009, primarily by Asian manufacturers selling through direct-from-China storefronts. The pieces look similar in photos but weigh a quarter of what ours do — they’re not designed to last, they’re designed to sell at a cheap price. Vintage Industrial sells direct only, through retro.net. We have no other sales channels, no third-party retailers, no Amazon storefront. If you’re seeing something like this anywhere else, it’s a counterfeit. Every Vintage Industrial piece is built to order in our Chicago shop by hand, from hot-rolled steel and solid hardwood, with a 12+ week lead time.
