The structural base is precision-formed from hot-rolled American steel, each length hand-selected for grain, tone, and character before a single weld is laid. Connecting rods with oversized hardware echo the foundry traditions that inspired the original design — a direct line to the industrial workshops of the late 19th century, where material honesty was never a choice but a standard. Over time, the steel develops a rich patina that deepens its presence and quietly records the story of its use.
A Surface Worthy of the Work
Each top begins with a single curatorial decision: the selection of the material that will define the table’s character for generations. Our craftsmen draw from a considered range of solid, sustainably sourced premium hardwoods — among them mahogany, walnut, oak, cherry, and reclaimed boxcar oak — choosing each plank by hand for its individual grain, figure, and depth of tone. For a fully industrial aesthetic, a hand-finished plate steel top is available. Hardwood tops are finished with a refined wood edge profile; steel tops are fitted with precision-formed metal trim and structural bolted corners. Custom riveted trim is available, adding an additional layer of foundry authenticity to the finished piece.
