New Adjustable Height Crank Table Design

We’ve been working on this new crank table design for a few weeks now. There was a lot of rivet work and details to build and I’m quite happy with the progess. It started as me needing a new desk for myself. I’ve been wanting to make a new more elegant Crank Table, so after designing on paper, we started building. I chose to use two massive 5 ton screw mechanisms to support the top. On each side we’ll have 12″ cast iron wheels to adjust the height which will go from 30″ to 45″. The base is 7′ long, and the top which we’ll be making next, will be 7′ x 40″ and most likely aged cherry wood with metal trim and bolted corners. The base was built from extra heavy-gauge steel, and adorned with rivets and bolts (at least 200). We had thoughts of going yellow or orange, but went with an aged red finish. Once this piece is completed, I’ll have some pictures to show, as well as specs and pricing. Hope this is next week!

This base will work perfect for a desk, dining or conference table.
